The City Council seem to say what they want people to believe, whether it’s true or not.  Starting off on the wrong foot, and then seriously misreading the situation, Officers and Councillors have arguably committed a most serious crime against the community.

We have been taught by false and contradictory statements not to trust what is said and written, but to judge by actions.  It has been forcefully drummed into us that actions speak louder than words.

By withdrawing support from a simple highly successful partnership, and trying to change it into something complex and commercial, the Council has deprived our children and the community of one of the City’s most valuable assets which provided activity and role models.

‘Constructively evicting’ the Summerway Club from the courts used by the children for decades, and demolishing their clubhouse, seems nothing short of legalized vandalism.  No wonder there is such a high level of vandalism and drinking in the locality by youngsters. Who can blame them for feeling there is nothing to do, and no one cares? Destroying the base used so effectively by well qualified volunteers, putting them out of a job when they are so sorely needed, shows the Council is not only remote, but has totally lost the plot. This is not the first time we have seen it exhibiting such damaging behaviour. Those Councillors and Officers responsible seem to have developed the mentality of Daleks  —  “Exterminate! Exterminate!”
